Balance of Power is a facilitated, team-based energy-market simulation workshop. Participants lead competing energy companies through changing demand, technology costs, market conditions and policy pressures, making investment and operational decisions and experiencing their consequences.
Across 12 rounds, teams build generation portfolios, bid into a simplified Australian electricity market and navigate the competing pressures of affordability, reliability, emissions, investment and system risk.
Electricity-market decisions rarely optimise for a single objective. Cost, reliability, emissions, flexibility, investment timing and commercial performance interact, often producing unintended consequences.
Balance of Power puts participants inside those decisions.
Rather than simply hearing how electricity markets and the energy transition work, participants make choices, see the market respond and adapt their strategy as conditions change.

Balance of Power was developed by Dr Antonin Demazy de Fortet, Founder and Principal of GG Advisory, drawing on more than 20 years of international experience across energy systems, strategy and emerging technologies.
Antonin holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Melbourne and an Executive MBA from ESCP Business School. His experience spans energy strategy, electricity systems, market development and the commercialisation of emerging technologies.
